Once upon a fog

I strolled about a foggy nightmare

when fireflies uncovered their wisdom,

and scarce light radiated belief

in the moon.

Then I too believed in the moon,

for its color pervaded the air,

and it sat on the body of a cherry tree,

that night.

That night, the stars bowed their heads,

and seated themselves above my street.

They glowed, watching passer-by me...

I hid my eyes.

I hid my eyes from the nightmare.

Suns never after descended to shine

in my fog, for my dream was the tragedy

that made godly street lights weep.
